Druk Expedition

Nepal is a small mountainous country in South Asia with a total area of 147,181 square kilometers much of which is covered by the Himalayas, where seven of the world's highest mountain peaks are found. It is a landlocked country, with Tibet (China) on its northern and India on its southern, eastern and western frontiers. Nepal has a diverse landscape from the highest, snow-capped mountains of the Himalayas in the north, to the green hills and valleys and the plains in the south. It has an equally diverse culture with more than a dozen ethnic groups that speak a multitude of different languages and local dialects.

The word 'Himalaya' is Sanskrit for 'Abode of Snows' and Nepal's stretch of the Himalaya includes eight peaks over 8,000 meters, among them the “mother” of all mountains, Mt. Everest or Sagarmatha in Nepali.. The best way to experience Nepal's unbeatable collection of natural beauty and cultural riches is to trek through them. And it is not just natural beauty you will find. The immense contrasts in altitude and climate found here support an equally spectacular mix of lifestyle, vegetation and wildlife. Hiking in the high country of Nepal is both a cultural and a wilderness experience. You will be passing through picturesque villages inhabited by diverse ethnic groups. In all aspects, while in this Himalayan Shangri-La, you will experience a different way of life.
